Before getting your child life insurance quotes it may help you to read up on the arguments for and against children’s life insurance. Is this really a necessary purchase?
Also check out the reasons why
Life insurance for kids may be a smart choice!
You and I both know this is something you hope you never need or have to use. But having a child in your life changes everything and starts to make you see and think about the world a little differently.
I know I felt this way when my little niece was born in August 2007; I’m just a proud auntie! The point of life insurance is to be prepared- it has been compared to wearing a seat belt in your car.
Day in and day out whenever you drive you put on your seat belt, because you know it will protect you if something goes wrong. Life insurance is a tool to protect those you love.
Arguments about Child Life insurance- Information you should know
If you’ve browsed around this topic enough you’ll see (or you soon will) that there’s a big debate going on. Among who? Well, the arguments come from financial advisors and insurance agents alike on whether life insurance for children is really a necessary purchase… or just a “big scam” and a waste of money.
The financial advisors say instead of paying the premium invest it and life insurance agents say the opposite…. Hmmm. Off course they both want your business!
You should always try to keep a level head when thinking about your life insurance purchase and even before getting your child life insurance quotes. And this is really a big challenge! You will soon find out that this is an emotional purchase. But ultimately, this decision lies with you as a parent. You want only the best for your child and family so it’s normal to weigh the pros and cons. Here are a few of them below. Let me know what you think!
Life insurance on children is a waste of money that can/should be invested elsewhere Some of the arguments against purchasing child life insurance have said that children are not assets. So there is no income lost if a child dies and it’s just a “waste of money.”Many financial experts have said that only “you” (the financial provider) of the family is the one who actually needs a policy on your life. And here’s why… If the sole provider of the family dies then that income is lost. So, since a child brings in no income it is not necessary to have a policy for them. Having children is an added expense for a family. Some financial advisors have said that if a child is lost you actually are not losing any income... but just the opposite. Although this is a very sad scenario. And of course child life insurance quotes are so cheap because the mortality rate of children is so low. The critics of child life insurance think that this money should be invested elsewhere. So instead of making the monthly payment to a child’s life insurance policy, you could instead invest this money into something like an educational IRA… which grows over their lifetime and can eventually pay for their college education.
